Riseley CofE Lower School

The village of Riseley is situated approximately ten miles north of Bedford along the A6. The village itself is relatively large and accommodates both the Lower School and Margaret Beaufort Middle School to which the majority of pupils transfer. Some children travel to school by bus from the surrounding areas of Melchbourne, Yelden, Pertenhall, Swineshead and Bletsoe. A number of pupils also attend the school from out of the catchment area.

Our current School is situated in Church Lane, close to All Saints Parish Church. The original building dates back from 1841, but various extensions have been added over the years and the last building project was completed in January 2014.

Under the current reorganisation by Bedford Borough Council, in September 2017 we will be relocating onto the Margaret Beaufort site to become a full primary school with Years 5 and 6.

In September 2017 we will be a one form entry primary school with two Year 6 classes in 2017/18 only. There will be approximately 220 children in the school, ranging from three years to eleven years. This includes 24 children in the nursery (Foundation Stage), who attend the school part-time. Children are accepted into the nursery in the term following their third birthday and remain the Foundation Stage until the July after their fifth birthday.
