Harrold Lower School

The school has approximately 120 pupils aged 4 – 9 years. There are five classes with between 22 and 29 pupils in each class. There are six teachers, two of whom are part-time, in total plus a fully qualified Music teacher who covers the class teacher’s PPA. To support the teaching and learning in the classrooms, there is one part-time Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA), four part-time teaching assistants and a part-time nursery nurse. There are also three other TAs who support four pupils, one of whom has an EHCP. There is an Office Manager who is responsible for the running of the Front Office and Reception. All of the staff are hard-working, enthusiastic and extremely positive in their approach to all aspects of school life.

The school has a good reputation locally with people keen to move to the area to try to secure a place. Visitors to our Lower School often comment upon the ethos and happy family atmosphere of our school. We share the school site with Harrold Priory Middle School with whom we will be merging in September 2017 to create a primary school on the existing school site.

In October 2016, we converted to an academy and belong to the multi-academy federation, Sharnbrook Academy Federation (SAF)
