Elstow School

Elstow School lies to the South of Bedford Town and sits in an area of high deprivation.

In 2013 we became a Primary School. In September 2014 we became a complete Primary School having children in Reception classes all the way through to year 6.

The School believes in “self evaluation” procedures and has won a variety of awards to demonstrate our commitment to the education of our children and the excellence of our school management.

Ofsted has said:

“This school is well led and managed.”

“The quality of teaching and learning is good. Staff are highly effective in using a range of teaching approaches to ensure that pupils achieve well”

“Pupils make good progress throughout the school in a wide range of subjects. The work in pupils’ books is well presented and shows great care.”

“Pupils rightly feel very safe at school. The school has a very open and supportive culture that provides pupils with plentiful opportunities to confide in an adult if they are ever worried or upset.”

The school prides itself on its nurturing ethos which meets the individual needs of all pupils and delivers an exciting curriculum which helps all children to engage in their learning and gain success.
The ideal candidates will join a team which is dedicated to providing excellent educational standards in a nurturing environment.
They will need to have the ability to:-
• Be a strong practitioner who provides exciting approaches to learning
• Work within a team, sharing ideas and experiences
• Adapt to the abilities and needs of all children
• Be flexible and have a good sense of humour.
• Have an excellent level of English, Maths and ICT.
