Bedford College is dedicated to teacher education with staff committed to promoting best practice. They will actively encourage you to work with other students and staff to improve your knowledge, making full use of the College’s wide provision including its specialist land-based campus at Shuttleworth College. Here you will have excellent opportunities to become an effective practitioner in your educational area.
The College offers a range of degree-level and part-time shorter courses, and its strong links with schools and the Bedfordshire Local Education Authority ensure that every opportunity for progression is open to you.
All of the College’s degree-level programmes are validated by, and lead to an award of, the University of Bedfordshire. These include: the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (CertEd/PGCE) qualification which leads to QTLS (Qualified Teacher in Learning and Skills); Educational Practice Foundation Degree, which can be topped up to a full degree at the University of Bedfordshire and Teaching in Post-Compulsory Education University Certificates in Continuing Professional Development – which help you to work towards a full teaching qualification and can be taught remotely or at the College.
