Alban is a dynamic and vibrant community, full of energy and enthusiasm. We provide challenging and enjoyable learning experiences in a friendly and supportive Christian environment.
We believe that education succeeds in an atmosphere of encouragement and high expectations. Our strength is to create opportunities for the success of all our children through the quality of our curriculum, the dedication of our staff and the care we have for the children.
Our latest OFSTED report (December 2015) stated:
‘The Headteacher has established a culture of the highest expectations. The needs of each pupil are at the heart of the work and success of the academy.’
‘The pupils very well in many lessons. Their attendance is good, they are polite, speak with maturity and almost all enjoy their learning.’
‘Leaders provide high-quality training for all staff. Consequently, staff are well skilled and perform their roles well.’
The school is preparing for an age-range change to 3 – 13 from September 2017. We have a number of specialist teachers who deliver the curriculum in Years 7 and 8. We have appointed primary trained staff who teach the majority of Key Stage 2 but have a passion or interest in a subject which they can teach in Key Stage 3. Equally we have appointed new primary staff to teach solely in Year 5.
