About Teach Bedford

Teach Bedford is the result of a productive collaboration between teachers, leaders, educational organisations, the Bedford Borough Learning exchange (BBLE) and Bedford Borough Council.

Our aim is to ensure that education in Bedford continues to thrive.

Bedford is both a great place to live and an ideal place to develop your teaching career. The town has a growing reputation for educational innovation and offers a broad variety of roles, schools and challenges. Within the borough, 96 per cent of primary schools are good or outstanding – placing it eighth out of 151 local authorities nationwide.

There are plans to invest £39 million in Bedford’s schools between 2015 and 2020. Providing the right environment for success is a real priority here, and we believe that we have the best school building programme in the UK. We are in the process, for example, of scrapping all temporary classrooms and will have completed this by 2018.

We also offer the best possible support for teachers, including networking opportunities, ‘exchange’ days for NQTs to visit other schools and ongoing training and mentoring for people at all stages within their career.
